I was recently invited down to Jodhpur Indian Kitchen in Basildon, Essex to have a taste of their menu! Jodhpur Indian Kitchen has been open since August 2018 and is a very popular restaurant in the town centre.  Indian food is one of my favourite meals so I was super excited!

Food events/reviewing food is one of the my specialities: I am a real foodie, if you didn’t know!  And yes, I am one of those people who take pictures of their food!!!

I visited Jodhpur Indian Kitchen on a Tuesday evening and I am not exaggerating when I say, all I spoke about that day at work was how excited I was for my Indian meal!!! My dad is the biggest Indian food critic, so thought i would take him along.

The restaurant itself is really cute and quirky and the staff were very friendly and attentive.  We were seated and given a menu each to glance over.

After our poppadums which was served with three signature chutneys, we decided to get two different starters to share, in order to get the best of both worlds (if you know, you know!) and more of a variety for my restaurant review.  We decided to try the “Herb Chicken Tikka” (which is chicken marinated in fresh green herbs paste, cooked in tandoor, served with mix raita and chilli sauce) and the “Gilafi Seekh Kebab” (which is minced lamb with spices and peppers, cooked in tandoor, served with chilli sauce and herb chutney).  I absolutely love Chicken Tikka anyway so I knew this would be a good choice but I can honestly say, it did not disappoint.  As for the Gilafi Seekh Kebab, I am not always keen on lamb (as I don’t like it being too chewy) but it was cooked to perfection and was extremely tasty.

As for our mains and with their menu, they give you the option to change the spice on the majority of meals.  I prefer a more mild curry than a spicy curry (like a korma or a butter chicken.. don’t laugh!!) so decided to go for the “Madras Chicken” (which is a flavourful chicken curry with roasted southern spices, served with butter naan) in the mild option and my dad decided to go for the “Madras Chicken” but in the spiciest option and we had sides of mushroom rice.  I absolutely loved this: especially as it isn’t something I would normally go for.  The chicken was tender and moist and was simply delicious.  The sauce had a slight kick to it but it was enough for me to cope with!!  I also had a “Peshwari Naan” (which I always get) and I can honestly say, this was the best Peshwari Naan I have ever had!

Our overall experience was amazing!  We felt the restaurant and the food gave off a real “Indian Street Food” vibe.  We had such a lovely time and enjoyed the most delicious meal.  We will definitely look at going back and taking the whole family, so of course, we would highly recommend Jodhpur Indian Kitchen!  The restaurant also offers a lunch time menu that looks unreal – so I would love to go back to have a taste of that menu too!

A massive thank you to Jodhpur Indian Kitchen for having us, we thoroughly enjoyed our Indian dining experience!

*this was a gifted dining experience but an honest review (as always!)

I have had a year full of ups and downs but it’s safe to say, I’ve come out on top. I’ve gained some, I’ve lost some and I have retained some, but as they say, everything happens for a reason and eventually, you’ll see the true colours in some people. I’m happier than ever, surrounded by the best people and the most amazing plans for 2018.

This year has been the BEST for my blogging life. I’ve worked with some amazing brands, attended some amazing events (which you would have seen), I’ve made some of the bestest friends I could possibly wish for (all thanks to blogging and events) and I’ve finally worked out an Insta theme – if you are into blogging, you will understand how important this really is… (hahahaha!!!)

I’ll start with the worst part of my year.. and this was definitely when I lost my beautiful Buffy in September, which broke my heart into 154685+ pieces but I will forever cherish the memories with her.  She has been my rock since I was a little girl.  You may think, I sound slightly crazy (unless you own a dog, because you will completely understand me when I say this) but she was so much more than “just a dog” to me, she was like a sister.  I adored her so much and she honestly had kindest heart.  Every single day I had her in my life, she made me feel so loved.  I love you my Buffy girl – miss you everyday, my little bestie! xxx

Some of my most memorable bits:

New York Baby! (I finally got to meet some of my beautiful American family… and I love them to pieces!)

New Years Eve

Events

Blogging Opportunities

Finally, one of the best memories of the year was when my Dad sold his business.  Unfortunately, I do not have any pictures to go with this section just yet… but we celebrated with our close friends and family on New Year’s Eve!  Congratulations Dad xxxxxxx

I would also like to say a big thank you to all those who I worked alongside in 2017, I have loved working with you all – it has been so much fun.

And, a big thank you to all of those who invited me to their incredible events.  Events are definitely one of my favourite things… ever!  I have met the most amazing girls through these events and have certainly made friends for life!

Also, a big thank you to my mum, dad, sisters, Nan, Rhianna, Alicia, Charlotte & Tara who have put up with the constant photographs and helping me with my Blogging in general.  I definitely wouldn’t of had such a successful year without you guys!  Love you all xxx

Wishing you all lots of love, happiness and success in 2018 – thank you so much for your continued support from 2014 – 2017.  You will never understand how much I love and appreciate you all for sticking by me and supporting me and my blog!

Best wishes, always and forever…

Have you always dreamed of having that perfect Hollywood smile? Well, I have found the perfect item you are looking for to help you achieve just that. I am so excited to introduce you to “Essex Smiles”.. we all know that having an Essex smile is better than having a Hollywood smile anyway!!!

Using this little beauty tool, you can whiten your teeth in the comfort of your own home, it’s simple, quick and easy.. what more could you ask for?

The box includes: 2 syringes filled with teeth whitening gel, 2 mouth moulds and an LED light.
Get your own kit here for just £18.99: Essex Smiles.

If you prefer the salon choice, I recently visited Essex Smiles (which is based in Chingford) with my boyfriend. We had our teeth whitened while we relaxed and watched TV for an hour!!  As long as you don’t mind dribbling in front of your other half (like me), it’s quite a nice little outing to share together! The service we received was fabulous, I couldn’t have wished for anything more but I was still so excited to be able to do it in my own home.

I can honestly recommend both the Essex Smiles home teeth-whitening kit and visiting the Essex Smiles salon. You can grab yourself a really good deal if you keep checking the Essex Smiles Instagram Page!

I can’t wait to see all of your glistening white nashers!!!

How insane was The Clothes Show?!?!?!?!

I was lucky enough to win tickets through “Dress Like The Celebs” (and I also won a dress which I will show you all very soon!!!!) thanks to The O’Donnell beauties!!!

So it was Essex to Birmingham… which was supposed to be a 2 hour and 15 minute drive, well with my luck, of course that wasn’t the case!!  From traffic and roadworks to 40mph speed limits, it wasn’t my usual “Sunday Chill Day” that’s for sure.  Although, I can honestly say, the busy roads and the back pain from sitting in the same spot for 3 hours was totally worth it and I would do it all over again if I could!!

I took my best friend Jess along with me and you could say, we shopped til we dropped!  I was aching ALL over!  My arms were dead (from all the shopping bags) and my legs were like jelly from walking around for hours, I wonder how many calories we burned that day?!

I am quite upset that I didn’t get as many pictures as I originally had hoped I would but I was having too much fun to care at the time!  From Fashion to Beauty, which are my two favourite things (if you haven’t guessed already) whatever you were looking for, it was guaranteed you would find it.  We found some amazing bits and some things we had never seen before and didn’t even know existed!!!

So next year, The Clothes Show is relocating to Liverpool, this is literally a “must do” if you are into Fashion and Beauty.

You had Q&A’s from the likes of Ferne McCann, to calendar signings with Joey Essex and catwalk shoes with the one and only, Sarah Ashcroft.  It was so lovely to see everyone dressed in their own unique styles, some really dressed up for the occasion and others dressed simply, just cute and casual.

I changed my outfit at least 10 times before the day… and made my final decision on the morning of The Clothes Show.  This was my outfit (my outfit details are tagged on my Instagram).

I wore a light coloured shirt from Bershka, my new Miss Guided jeans (from the actual Miss Guided shop in Westfields!!!), my rucksack and trainers are both Michael Kors (my favourite) but are from the Lewis Yates shop in Billericay, Essex.

I had so many compliments on my Michael Kors trainers because they are so different and unqiue, I absolutely love them!!  Even my eyelashes were getting compliments left right and centre!  My eyelashes were unfortunately false lashes and are from Elegance Lashes which I found on Instagram.  They are insane and look really pretty and girly.  Every time I wear them I get so many compliments – so apparently I have a really good taste in false eyelashes!!!

So what I’m trying to tell you is… I had the most amazing time at the Clothes Show.  I can’t wait to go again this year (but obviously it will be a trip to Liverpool rather than Birmingham).  Please make sure you save some money and buy yourself a Clothes Show ticket and get yourself down there – you really will love it, I promise!!!  The Clothes Show will take place during 7th – 9th July 2017 and I cannot wait to see all of your outfit choices!!

Last weekend, I needed an emergency shopping trip.  Due to a massive white sack of my shoes being left in France.  That’s another story!!! I was in desperate need of some new shoes.. obviously, I couldn’t go out and just get some shoes, I needed outfits too!! It was my birthday celebrations, of course I did!

I found this gorgeous 2 piece from Miss Selfridge, I was over the moon with my new purchase.  I felt so comfortable wearing it, however, on the other hand my shoes were very painful! But a girl’s gotta do what a girl’s gotta do.. I managed, of course!!

I wore this outfit to the Sugar Hut in Brentwood.  I posted the picture (below) on my Instagram/Twitter and Facebook pages and I have been asked several times where my outfit was from!  So, I thought the best thing to do was to post about my outfit on here.

I absolutely love shopping as you will find out when you read more about me.  With regards to shopping, I could spend so much money on clothes/shoes because I love updating my wardrobe (probably a little too much really!)  I just can’t help myself, my friends and family have to connivence me not to spend my money.. I sometimes listen!

Let me know what you think about my outfit choice!
